This role will receive a significant amount of responsibility across a broad spectrum of content marketing opportunities combined with valuable guidance from an energetic marketing leader. The role is focused on generating and publishing content for our social media platforms, blogs, and static websites. This year, we will also be updating our websites. This is a marketing generalist position where this person is expected to have a broad range of capabilities and a flexible attitude to do what needs to be done for the success of the brands.The Content Manager will work closely with our Director of Marketing and Business Development but must be able to work independently with good organizational and time- management skills. Both attention to detail and the ability to see the big picture are crucial parts of being successful in this role.The main responsibilities of this role are to:Develop a Strong and Consistent Brand Voice Developing and understanding our brand voice is a critical part of this Content Manager role. With seven related-but-unique brands, this role will curate content that consistently aligns with the personalities of the individual companies. This requires attention to detail, an innate need to positively impact our customers and team members, and close alignment with our local teams. While each company is unique, channels will be managed in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals.Creatively Tell Stories The goal of our published content will be to champion our team members and our world-class service to draw audience attention and garner clicks. Through connections with our local operations teams, the Content Manager will develop and tailor content for each platform – telling the stories that itch to be told. The right candidate will be insatiably curious and willing to read the book, Building a Storybrand by Donald Miller. This role will balance creativity with repeatable processes to scale the quantity of content production.Build Content Excellent written communication skills are a necessity in this role. The Content Manager will create and publish web pages, blogs, and social media posts across our digital channels, including our website, Google My Business, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Ideas will be generated in collaboration with others while this role turns those ideas into reality. Web content should be optimized for search engine optimization and knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics would be preferred.There will also be opportunities to generate additional types of collateral, including sales presentations and press releases. Graphic design skills in Powerpoint and/or Adobe Illustrator may be useful. At times, we will have team members write their own posts that will require editing before publication. There will be opportunities for photography and video editing skills to be useful in this role. The Content Manager must also ensure compliance with copyright and data protection laws.Publish and Monitor Response Once the content is written, vetted, and approved, the Content Manager will publish and monitor the response. This role will need an understanding of the right publishing cadence across multiple channels and be able to regularly update the design of social media accounts (profile picture, etc) to match the brand. Familiarity with web design, basic HTML and WordPress is required. This role is not a community manager role, but does require a professional and timely response to comments, questions and reviews posted online.Analyze our Performance On a regular basis, the Content Manager will analyze traffic, growth, and engagement metrics via Google Analytics and social media reporting to evaluate ROI. As we understand what topics are most relevant to achieve our marketing goals, we will adjust our strategy.Additional administrative responsibilities and collaboration with other departments will be expected.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES NoneSCHEDULE: Exempt: Generally, this role will work normal business hours, but in light of the nature of both the transportation industry and social media, this role will require attention to our digital presence in the evenings and weekends as well. Flexibility with the work schedule is required.This role will require travel to our locations, as well as regularly to our company headquarters in Lakewood, CO. Approximately 15-25% of this role will be spent traveling, likely every other week for 2-3 days at a time. 25% of the travel will occur with the Director.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: College degree preferredNo certification/license requirementsPreferred marketing experience: o 3+ years in a marketing role with 1+ year managing a social media business account o Significantly more experience may be matched with commensurate salaryQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED: LANGUAGE:Strong written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team members, customers, and the general public. Ability to respond effectively to most sensitive inquiries or complaints.MATH ABILITY:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.COMPUTER SKILLS:Must possess advanced computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, WordPress and social media platforms (including Google My Business, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn). Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing required.
