Job Description : | Job SummaryThis position is primarily responsible for marketing strategy, social media oversight, University image advertising, program-specific advertising, event promotion, and analytics for Union.About Union UniversityUnion University is a private, coeducational liberal arts-based university offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Union is consistently ranked among the nation’s premier Christian universities and has been recognized as a top-tier institution each year since 1997 by U.S. News & World Report, which also recognized Union at a national level for undergraduate teaching excellence.Essential Job DutiesPlay a primary role in maintaining and advancing the Union brand, both visually and conceptually. Offer fresh creative concepts based on Union’s strengths and marketing needs to writing and design teams.Provide leadership and oversight for all the university’s social media outlets, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. Develop a comprehensive social media strategy and work with University Communications team members to develop content for all social media channels.Develop, implement and maintain an integrated marketing plan for Union University and its various areas based on best-available market and media research.Serve as the primary liaison between the Office of University Communications and Union’s admissions office (in addition to graduate programs) to help them meet their recruitment goals by supporting their communication needs. This will include identifying third-party vendors who can help attract new prospective students.Track advertising performance through data analytics to ensure optimal use of university resources; identify deficiencies and explore opportunities to improve results.Work closely with Institutional Advancement to help them meet their development goals through the implementation of communication plans that will engage alumni and friends of the University.Help offices that utilize CRMs to optimize the usage of included communication tools (such as email and text) and to make plans for improved constituent engagement through the interpretation of analytics.Assist as needed in writing copy for Union advertising and other promotional materials.Stay current on social media marketing and best practices.Assist the Web Development Agent in updating content on the website that will enhance search engine optimization. Utilize tools such as Google Analytics and Tag Manager to better understand and reach our audiences through digital marketing channels.Assist in the creation and implementation of automated email campaigns.Other duties may be assigned by the Associate Vice President for University Communications or Vice President for Institutional Advancement.Required QualificationsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of successful communications and marketing experience. Preferred QualificationsDesired attributes include:Experience writing advertising copy for print, broadcast, and new media.Multiple examples of leadership in successful promotions including audience research; the preparation of marketing plans; and implementation and maintenance of strategy.Willingness to serve a variety of clients with professionalism and to exhibit a team-oriented approach in the workplace.Excellent and persuasive communication skills, both written and oral.Excellent organizational skills and knowledge of office software programs.Professional work habits and team-oriented attitude.Ability to represent Union University to its constituencies in a professional and effective manner.Proven skills in working with students and volunteers.Christian RequirementSuccessful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University’s Identity, Mission, and Core Values, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
