As such, we are currently seeking a Digital Content Manager who demonstrates the following skills and brings the following experience:
2+ years’ experience in editorial and content development and social media community management, preferably with a tourism or hotel/resort focus
Engaging writing style
Must be able to multitask and perform well under tight deadlines
Ability to respond positively to client and peer criticism and feedback
Must be familiar with web content best practices, including SEO, HTML and uploading content to a CMS
Must be familiar with social media best practices and be flexible to adapt to the rapidly changing social media landscape
Basic photography and video editing skills for social media
Willingness to take direction, but also work independently
Excellent attention to detail
Previous tourism or agency experience is a plus
A positive attitude is a must!
Job Snapshot:
As a Digital Content Manager at Miles, you have a passion for travel marketing and will work with a team of marketing and publishing professionals to develop quality content that informs and inspires potential visitors for our destination clients.
You’ll research relevant travel topics, create and implement thoughtful editorial plans, understand digital media platforms, demonstrate creativity and attention to detail, and tie it all together by writing and capturing compelling content for distribution via the website, email and social media platforms.
The Digital Content Manager is a travelers’ advocate who leverages research, site analytics, client marketing objectives, and brand positioning to develop and deliver compelling content across multiple platforms. He/she is a leader with the ability to think strategically and work collaboratively with a team. Miles is looking for a healthy balance of creative, editorial and technical skills as well as strong time-management abilities, careful attention to detail and thoughtful client communications.
We are seeking someone to work remotely out of our Baton Rouge, Louisiana, office who is poised, sharp, articulate and focused — a strategic thinking professional with a can-do attitude.
Essential Duties:
Create high-quality travel marketing content for multiple digital platforms including website and social media channels
Capture, curate, design, write, and produce all social media content and serve as brand voice for the customer
Employ third-party technology for content curation and AMP story creation
Cultivate working relationships with digital marketing managers in multiple state offices and tourism bureaus across the state
Understand website, campaign and social media analytics with a view toward enhancing content performance and traffic
Successfully employ SEO best practices to drive traffic to content and knowledge of effective user experience in interactive products
Drive strategies that are proven by testing and metrics; use the website and campaign analytics to identify trends, assess data, and enhance content performance and traffic
Ensure content reflects the tone, style and branding message of our clients; ensure branding and tone are consistent across multiple media platforms
Manage own workflow while coordinating with project teams and management on schedules, requirements, goals and assignments as needed
Perform meticulous editing and fact-checking for web and print content
Copy edit digital and print content to ensure overall accuracy and consistency

Occasional travel required, sometimes requiring an overnight stay

Salary Range: $50,000 – $58,000 DOE
